van der Waals Dispersion Potential between Excited Chiral Molecules via the Coupling of Induced Dipoles

The retarded van der Waals dispersion potential between two excited chiral molecules was calculated using an approach, in which electric and magnetic dipole moments are induced each particle by fluctuations the vacuum electromagnetic field. An expectation value of coupling at different centres to dipolar interaction tensors taken over matter states ground state radiation field, former yielding molecular polarisabilities susceptibilities, latter field–field spatial correlation functions. term proportional mixed polarisability is discriminatory, dependent upon handedness, contains additional terms due transitions that de-excite species as well usual u-integral imaginary frequency, applies both upward downward transitions. Excited potentials a comparable order magnitude involving paramagnetic diamagnetic couplings were also computed. Pros cons method adopted compared other commonly used approaches.
